Will Oberndorfer is the Will in Diabetes Will’s Way. Will was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in November of 2012. Quickly, he realized it was his platform to help others. His first fundraiser sold “Willstrong” t-shirts and raised over $10,000 for JDRF’s cure research. Will helped to ideate and co-found our organization and has been the face for public speaking and mentoring other diabetics.
Will is studying Public Relations and Professional Writing at Purdue University. His pursuit of service is impelled by his Catholic faith. He is proud to be a counselor at Chris Dudley Basketball Camp for diabetics in Vernonia, Oregon every year.
Beyond diabetes, Will is a sports lover. He loves to disc golf and play pickup basketball. He was his high school valedictorian and soccer goalie. At Purdue, he enjoys being a part of the campus programming board PSUB and showing his artistic side with standup comedy or slam poetry.
