Kathleen K Campbell (Kathy)
Why Will’s Way?
During my work in the pharmaceutical industry, I developed relationships with customers (HCP’s, NP’s, pharmacists, etc.) and understand it takes a team approach for treating Type 1 Diabetes. I also know the importance of educating families of children with Type 1 Diabetes on the resources that are available. Knowledge is Power!
Years in Organization
1
Kathy Campbell was exposed to Type 1 Diabetes when her younger brother (now 56) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 13. She also has a sister (now 63) who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 53. Kathy has witnessed the huge change in pharmaceuticals and devices available for patients with Type 1 Diabetes. However, many families have challenges in getting access to the products.
Kathy graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in management. She has over 36 years of pharmaceutical experience. Most of her experience was with Sanofi (and the predecessor companies) working in diabetes. Kathy had the opportunity to work with Pharmacists, payers, and healthcare providers who were office based and hospital based.
Kathy learned the importance of building relationships by being involved in numerous activities at Purdue such as the Purdue Foundation Student Board where she hosted Purdue Alumni at various events for their continued support of the University. She also got involved with fundraising after college with events such as “Oh My Black Tie,” “Kiss A Pig” with the American Diabetes Association, and supports family members who are active with the IU and Purdue Dance Marathons, and Riley Red Wagon Campaign. Kathy has volunteered at Diabetes Camps, Diabetes Walks, and the Tour de Cure.

Our team get’s it because we’ve lived it. Many of us have Type 1 Diabetes ourselves or care for someone who does.
